The Case Against Fluoride

Paul
Connett
Review:

The fluoridation of America's water was recently celebrated by the U.S. Center for Disease Control as one of the ten greatest public health acheivements of the twentieth century. However, after reading The Case Against Fluoride, you'll be wondering how anyone could argue in good faith that there is a case for it. The lead author, a former professor of chemistry and toxicology, carefully lets the facts (backed up by almost 100 pages of citations) speak for themselves - and the facts are damning. I would advise skipping chapters 7-10, which slog through the complex history of fluoridation. and get to the heart of the matter, which is the evidence of health effects, especially chapter 12 on the biochemistry of fluoride, and chapter 15 on fluoride and the brain. Connett concludes by shredding the scripted mantra used to promote fluoridation. RCPL has another great book on fluoridation (The Fluoride Deception, by Chris Bryson), which investigates the twisted history of this practise. And yes, Columbia's drinking water is fluoridated.
